We are pleased to announce our charity partners for the 2020 Gallery of Homes at Rivendell – The Sparrow Project and Moore Faith Medical Clinic.
The Sparrow Project is a non-profit organization promoting happy and fulfilled lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization began when a few families of young adults with intellectual disabilities began discussing the limited options for their adult children after high school graduation. Some go to adult day care centers, a few work part-time jobs and many are forced to stay home either alone or with a caregiver.
The Sparrow Project believes that everyone has worth and deserves the opportunity to have a meaningful life. They fulfill their mission through two programs – Sparrow University and NEST. Sparrow University offers bi-weekly arts & crafts, music classes, sports, cooking lessons and volunteer opportunities for those adults with intellectual disabilities at little to no charge. NEST hosts monthly social events, including sporting events, theater outings, picnics and dances.
Moore Faith Medical Clinic was founded in 2015 by a group of friends who had worked two years to help the community recover from the tragic May 2013 tornado. They launched this free clinic after recognizing a need to help the uninsured and underserved in Moore. Over the last five years, the clinic has seen more than 5,000 patients, provided $4 million in free prescription medications, and provided more than $6 million worth of care for those in the community.
Moore Faith Medical Clinic’s mission is to share the love of Christ in a holistic and tangible way through faith-based free medical care. The organization focuses on loving and serving the community while recognizing the God-given dignity of each human life.
We are blessed to have these organizations in our community and thrilled that all ticket sale proceeds from the event will be donated to these charity partners.
